Description

*** The 1 oz $5 Canadian Silver Bison Coin (Canadian Wildlife Series) was massively popular with both investors and collectors. Those interested in bullion coin investments at affordable prices preferred the coins from this series for their .9999 Pure Silver, while collectors coveted the coins for their limited mintage and one-time designs. The 2013 1 oz Canadian Silver Wood Bison Coin is now available from Royalty Precious Metals while Supplies Last.

Coin Highlights:

  • 6thand final coin in the Canadian Wildlife Series.
  • Arrives in Tubes of 25 or Plastic Flips
  • Contains 1 oz of .9999 Pure Silver.
  • Issued a face value of $5 (CAD) by the federal government in Canada.
  • Features the unique Wood Bison on the reverse.

Canadian Wildlife Series coins were released over the course of three years. Starting in 2011, the Royal Canadian Mint released two coins each year, one in February and one in August. The first four coins in the series were designed by Royal Canadian Mint Assistant Engraver William Woodruff, while Canadian artist Emily Damstra designed the 2013 coins.

The 2013 1 oz Canadian Silver Wood Bison coin available to you right now is in BU Condition. These coins have their full, original luster, but also feature three to four minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited contact marks, and are found outside the primary focal areas of the coin.

On the reverse face of the coin is the image of a Wood Bison, as created by Damstra. Engravings on this face of the coin include the nation of issue, purity of the coin, its weight, and the metal content. Damstra’s “ED” initials are also included on this side.

The obverse features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed and used for the first time on Canadian coins in 2003, Her Majesty’s effigy is included along with engravings that read “Elizabeth II,” “2013,” and “5 Dollars.”

The Royal Canadian Mint currently operates two facilities across the country. The original mint location is in the federal capital of Ottawa, while a secondary facility was opened in Winnipeg in the 1980s.
