The first use of Britannia on precious metals in Britain came during the unification of the crowns of England and Scotland. As the new United Kingdom took shape, Britannia was chosen as a symbol of that unified power on coins issued by the Royal Mint following the unification of the two crowns.

Today, Britannia famously features on the country’s gold and silver bullion coinage. These 100 oz British Silver Britannia Bars are available to you for either individual purchase or bulk purchase. The individual bars are housed in individual boxes, and the master box option includes five bars for a total of 500 Troy oz of silver.

Jody Clark designed both the obverse and reverse side of the new Britannia Bars for the Royal Mint. Clark is famous for producing the fifth-generation portrait of Queen Elizabeth II currently in use on British coinage as of 2016, and for the 10 designs in the Queen’s Beast Collection from the mint.

On the obverse of the 100 oz British Silver Britannia Bars is a design of Britannia that is all-new, but inspired by classical art design concepts. Her figure is captured in right-profile relief with a large Corinthian helmet on her head. She holds a trident in her left hand to wield control over the seas and holds a shield with the British flag on it in her right hand to defend against invaders.

The reverse face of 100 oz Britannia Silver Bars includes the Royal Mint of England seal. The seal is followed by engravings of the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. At the very bottom are rolling waves of the sea reflective of the seafaring history of the nation.
