Proposed in 2010, the coin did not become reality until 2017 when the first-ever 1 oz Palladium Eagle was introduced. Like the other coins in the series, the Palladium Eagle features an iconic, historic image of Liberty and a depiction of the American bald eagle. Now, 1 oz American Palladium Eagle Coins from random years of issue are available from Royalty Precious Metals.

Winged Liberty is found on the obverse of 1 oz Palladium Eagle Coins. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and depicts Liberty in left-profile relief with a Phrygian cap on her head. This design was introduced on the US Dime in 1916 and became known as the Mercury Dime due to Liberty’s resemblance to the Roman deity Mercury.

An American bald eagle is featured on the reverse of American Palladium Eagles. This design was also created by Weinman but was introduced in 1907 on the American Institute of Architects gold medal. The design shows a bald eagle in left-profile relief with its wings raised as it clutches a laurel branch in its peak on the edge of a rock cliff.

The American Palladium Eagle is only available in 1 oz of .9995 palladium. The coins have been introduced in various versions since 2017 that include BU coins in 2017 and 2021, Proof coins in 2018 and 2021, Reverse Proof coins in 2019 and 2022, and a Burnished Coin in 2020.
