This 1907 design captures the full-length figure of Liberty in front-facing relief as she strides away from Washington D.C. You can see the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet, with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The background offers sun rays silhouetting her frame and a ring of stars around the field.

The reverse field of the 2023 1 oz Gold Eagle comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. Newly redesigned in 2021, the reverse now features the head of a single bald eagle in left-profile relief with stunning levels of detail in the bird’s physical features.
